Arrowhead Survival started as an idea over eight years ago by its founder and CEO, Curtis while still living in Southern California. Curtis followed guidance of his religious leaders and saw his communities literally burn down in the mountains above him around Lake Arrowhead and the San Bernardino Mountains in California. Curtis saw that many of the people were not ready for the threat of the fires that have hit their homes and destroyed everything. These families would have to change their entire life and depend on the community to help bring them together and give them shelter and food. The biggest problem was that California was not ready or open to the idea of a “Survival” business. Politically and financially, it was not the place to start Curtis’ dream.

Fast forward to September 2020. Curtis met his now wife and made the big choice to move to Tallahassee, Florida, a 2,200-mile journey across the country, straight down the I-10. This journey would lead Curtis and his wife Ashley to want to do more for their lives and those around them. Curtis just could not find enjoyment not knowing how he could better his family’s life and his community. Come Mid-October 2021, Curtis became more disconnected with his employment and he discussed testing out a business concept in Florida. Curtis and Ashley chose to go to the North Florida Fairgrounds and discuss the upcoming county fair. Curtis went and learned that the North Florida Fair had no vendors selling Freeze Dried Food. This being exactly 2 weeks before Curtis and Ashley’s first year anniversary, they decided to pull the trigger and put it all in.

Curtis and Ashley had to figure out how to start a business out of nothing in just two weeks. Curtis then called his parents who had his and Ashley’s car hauling trailer in their driveway and requested his parents sell the trailer for them. The trailer was sold within just a couple of days. Curtis worked tirelessly to get all legal paperwork to start a new business in Florida, he pulled out all his old logos and branding, connected with a local print company, made an initial order for immediate shipment, built a new website, and lead the way to creating what was only expected to be a hobby. November 2, 2021 – Curtis and Ashley celebrate their 1-year anniversary at their booth at the North Florida Fair! Business was so good; it was at this time they decided it would be only right to Apply for their Federal Firearms License and move into the next stages of doing gun shows. It did not stop there, they learned that Arrowhead Survival really was built on love when their FFL arrived in the mail on Valentine’s Day in 2022. This became a sign. They went to their first gun show in Panama City Beach, Florida and saw huge potential. During the drive home Ashley looked at Curtis and said “open a retail store”.
